Freedom of Religion!

My new pants look like this girl's and are made by the same company: Splashgear!

Here in the United States of America most people with common sense really value freedom of religion, which means the government can’t tell you what to believe in, so long as you are not breaking any other laws (like making human sacrifices or “marrying” twelve year old virgins) or proselytizing through government channels (like telling your public school students they are going to hell if they do not repent, you are free to believe that all you want, but you are not paid with public tax dollars to say it if you are a teacher).

However, I would like to talk about a different kind of freedom of religion. Swimwear designed to meet the needs of religious women, who have obligations to be modest, gives me the freedom to be modest and protected from the sun without being uncomfortable or looking completely idiotic. Since I don’t adhere to any particular ideological path I am free to mix and match and find what works for me. Right now I am sporting a Mormon bathing suit, that I have mentioned in previous posts and I just got some swim pants from the Muslim-oriented company Splashgear. I am quite excited to try out the latter and I will probably do a review of each suit in the future. At this moment I will definitely say that I highly recommend both suits.

The Mormon Ohana suit is great if you enjoy really active water sports and don’t care for slippage leading to accidental peep shows or if you prefer more coverage than a mainstream tankini but don’t want to wear an “old lady” suit. The Splashgear suit is good for the same reasons but has the added benefit of giving you excellent sun protection for all of your lower body (my main reason for wearing it, although I appreciate the added modesty) and hides anything that you want to keep private i.e. your legs and lower body in general, scars, prosthetics, bad tattoos, etc.

These suits are great because any woman can wear them regardless of shape, size, or religion. Regardless of which suit you are wearing you will be safe from some ignorant sod standing up on the beach, pointing, and yelling “Mormon!” or “Muslim!” in the same way a normal person would shout “Fire!”. [While all the Mormons and Muslims I know personally are lovely people and I would proudly stand up for them, I can also sympathize with women who might not want to be mistaken for a member of these religions. Despite the fact that America is a great place to live there are some very ignorant and hateful people here, especially in this region, and it might not be all that safe to appear to be a Mormon/Muslim here.] Another great thing about both of these companies is that they are owned and operated by female entrepreneurs from the U.S.A.!
