Where you can get them: http://www.splashgearusa.com/Splashgear-Sport-Stripe-Collection-Resort-Pants-p/s-301.htm  or  http://www.swimoutlet.com

Modesty: Maximum. If you choose a tunic-like top and head covering you will only be showing your face, hands, and feet. They really do not cling when you exit the water, which I was a little skeptical about until I bought them.

Sun/UV Protection: Excellent. See above. Great for those of us unfortunate enough to be extremely fair and sensitive to topical sunscreen.

Comfort: Great. True to size. I have a purple pair in Misses Medium regular length and I think I could have gotten away with a long length as I am 5'7"ish, perhaps a little taller, with a short torso and LONG legs and they come to just above my ankle bone while standing but become high-waters when I bend my knees, sit, or lay down. Please note that in order to be safe for swimming the pants should not come below the ankle bone. I LOVE the peached nylon*, which is basically how it sounds: fairly stiff nylon* that feels like peach fuzz on the outside. Dries SUPER FAST, LOVE it! Lightweight, not at all sweaty even on a sweltering Gulf of Mexico beach. Now keep in mind that the waist and hip of the pants are the same dimensions because they are drawstring. I am slim-hipped and apple-shaped so if you are pear-shaped I’d go with the next bigger size if you are in doubt. There is absolutely NO stretching to these pants. The pants are supposed to sit above the hip while in the water. I tend to hike them down a little when just walking around. They are soft enough inside to wear without a bikini bottom underneath if you so desire. They also look nice and sporty for those of us not old enough to be grandmothers but they are also good for grandmothers who hate those little swim dresses too.

Casual Swimming: Awesome! My preferred stroke is the breast stroke and the pants move with the body just fine during the frog kick without binding the crotch, knees or hips. There is a little more movement around the calves but it doesn’t bother me nor does it create an immodest situation. DO remember to tighten the drawstring sufficiently before swimming especially if slim-hipped. You may have to take a minute or two to educate public pool managers/life guards in the U.S.

Snorkeling/SCUBA: Good, see above.

Kayaking: Good, no burnt knees also pretty dirt-resistant if you end up some place muddy.

Durability: Great! I have been good about keeping them out of the washing machine though.

Weirdness Factor: You may get a few looks when people see you entering and exiting the water fully clothed. Great for walking around post-water though.

Recommended For: Fair-skinned/sun sensitive women, women who have religious obligations not to reveal the leg, women who like water sports and medium-high impact beach fitness activities, those wishing to conceal cellulite/tattoos/scars/piercings/prostheses between the ankle and waist.

What I Would Change/Comments for Manufacturer: I prefer to wear them without bottoms underneath so I’d like the inner seams to be covered in something a little softer and maybe a softer drawstring that is against my stomach. I’d like to see more colors too.

Overall Rating: Woo hoo! AWESOME! I am proud to wear these and they make me happy! 9 out of 10

*Splashgear correction: The chlorine-proof fabric used to produce the swim bottoms is 100% polyester microfiber ("peached") woven fabric--not nylon.
